1. How much do you charge to DJ an event?

Please refer to the services section of this site to review our current packages and pricing. If you have a more specific requirement, please contact Ambiance Entertainment directly for a customized quote.

2. How far in advance do I need to book you?
The sooner, the better! To ensure we are available for your event, we recommend that you contact us up to a year in advance. However, it’s best to contact us directly for our most recent availability.

3. What if we want a song that you don’t have?
Although Ambiance Entertainment has an extensive music library, we know you may have something very unique and specific you would like played. In the rare case that you’re looking for a song we don’t have, we’ll do our best to find it for you. And when you meet with us, we’ll go over all your music requirements to make sure we can satisfy your needs.

4. Can we meet the DJ before the event?
Of course! We wouldn’t have it any other way. In fact, once you book with Ambiance Entertainment, your DJ will request a meeting with you to go over all of your music and event needs. As you work through our planning package, you are also free to contact your DJ with any questions or special requests you may have.

5. Will the DJ be interactive?
Your DJ will be as interactive as you like. Some of our clients prefer the DJ to act as the Master of Ceremonies at an event and continually interact with their guests, while others request that the DJ to take a more behind-the-scenes approach. When you meet with us, we’ll go over your specific needs so your DJ can provide the level of interactivity that suits your preferences.

6. What does the DJ wear to our event?
Your DJ will dress according to your preferences. Whether you want a casual, business or ultra formal look, our DJs will wear attire that fits with your event. Be sure to discuss your wardrobe needs ahead of time.

7. What kind of equipment do you use?
For the best possible sound we use only professional disc jockey equipment from Denon and Mackie.

8. Do you offer any games or props?
Yes, we do! Ambiance Entertainment offers kissing dice, balloon games, YMCA dance props and more to enhance your special event. Contact us about your specific needs and we’ll let you know what we can provide.

9. Do we have to provide a meal for the DJ?
The decision to provide your DJ with a meal is completely up to you. However, a meal is truly appreciated, as your DJ often works for up to 8 hours at a time without a break.

10. How far will the DJ travel?
Your DJ will travel to Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas at no extra charge. For any event that is more than two hours outside the K-W area, your DJ will require one night’s accommodation at a nearby hotel to avoid a long and potentially unsafe drive home in the early hours of the morning. Additional charges may also apply to compensate for travel. Contact us with your specific needs and we will be happy to provide you with a customized quote.

11. How much is the deposit and when is the final payment due?
A deposit of $100 is required to hold your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event date.

12. What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 30 days before your event, only the deposit will be forfeited. If you cancel less than 30 days before your event, the entire fee will be due.

13. Can you play longer than the agreed upon time?
If the party is really happening and you don’t want it to end, your DJ can continue to play past your agreed upon time, as long as you also have permission from the venue to keep the party going. Many venues must legally close at 1:00 AM. Ambiance Entertainment also requires an additional $100 cash on site for every extra hour of music played.

14. Will you post your signage at our event?
No. Ambiance Entertainment will not ruin your décor by posting signs or placing cards at your guest tables. But, we don’t mind if you brag about us to all your friends and family. Recommendations are always appreciated.
